Diabetic Association of India, Pune branch is a registered organization dedicatedly working for the last 59 years towards a noble cause of helping diabetic patients. Following are the glimpses of its work:

To spread awareness about diabetes among the people by organising seminars, meetings, talks, workshops, etc.
To help diabetic patients by providing them treatments and guidance by specialist doctors, dieticians at minimum cost. To provide them facility of tests at well equipped laboratories at concessional rates.
To provide facility of well equipped laboratory and conduct tests at concessional rates.
To provide medicines, guidance, treatments and educate juvenile diabetic patients and needy people free of cost or at minimal charges.
To run state of the art and well equipped 'Diabetic foot clinic'
In addition to the main branch at Karve Road, Three sub branches are run in Pune city for the convenience of people.
Guidance is being given for the last 35 years through the magazine 'Madhumitra'. It is the first magazine in Maharasthra to provide information about diabetes and the members of the magazine are spread across Maharashtra as well as outside.


The association has its own place at Karve road in 'Swapnanagari Society' which has fulltime working staff. The daily activities are carried out by staff with the help of computers.

The association was started at small scale at the residence of Late. Dr. M. P. Joshi. Later on the association kept growing with the help and support extended from doctors and social dignitaries. The association is progressing under the proficient leadership of renowned physician in Pune, Dr. Jagmohan Talwalkar.

The association could progress well due to the support and contribution of donors, well wishers, and advertisers. Day by day the number of diabetic patients is on the rise. The increase in number of diabetics in India is much more as compared to other countries in the world.
